Even Shadow Senator Paul Strauss had a car in the parade. And a classic one, to boot.

Kwan Kearney, a 19-year-old D.C. man who had already been charged with murder in another November shooting, has now been charged in the death of Joseph Alonzo Sharps. D.C. police are calling the shooting, which occurred around 8:45 p.m. on November 8 along the 1300 block of Holbrook Street NE, “completely unprovoked.” Sharps, who was a resident of Queen Street NE and a 17-year-old senior at Spingarn High School, was simply out taking a walk after finishing his homework when, as the Post reports, some people — apparently including Kearney — took offense to Sharps and his friend’s laughter. Kearney had recently been charged with first-degree murder for allegedly killing Jamal Wilson along the unit block of P Street NW on November 14.
