Your DCist editor-in-chief’s Thanksgiving morning was punctuated by some flutters of the white stuff in Philadelphia, and our friends at the Capital Weather Gang note that Washington might be getting its first real taste of flakes shortly:
The pattern early in December definitely is trending colder than normal. The picture is a murkier in terms of our chances of seeing an early December snow but the odds of getting snow appear to be increasing.

During the period from December 5-9 the probability of snow looks like it will be higher than normal for the Washington area.
So what if these long-term forecasts are somewhat unreliable? Start stocking up on bread and milk now, people! Don’t you remember what happened last year on December 5th? We’re talking precedent here.
