Pepco said today that they will embark on an aggressive tree trimming campaign, improve their electricity feeders and move selected cables underground, work which will cost $200 million over five years and be paid for by a monthly increase of about a dollar on D.C. and Maryland customers’ bills. After a disastrous 2010 in which lengthy power outages in both hot and cold weather were the norm rather than the exception, is anyone out there upset with having to pay an extra dollar every month to get things back on track?
