Given the general sporting malaise in this town, we’ll take any good news we can get — so we are really going to savor in the championship-winning ways of the Beacon House Falcons. The Falcons, a group of 8-11 year olds hailing from Edgewood Terrace, crushed the Liberty City (Florida) Warriors 19-0 in the Jr. Midget Division I National Championship game, the final note of a symphony of gridiron domination. Beacon House rolled through the previous three rounds of the playoffs, outscoring opposition from New Jersey, Connecticut and Ohio by a combined score of 63-6. It’s nothing new for Beacon House, whose football team has dominated the District’s Pop Warner scene over the last few years.

And look at the media skills some of these kids have! I’d take any of these players over goat of the week Graham Gano any day of the week.
