Well, we knew this day was coming: the first real snowfall of the season. Just as a reminder, the local weather people are only calling for an inch or two of the white stuff, though snow is accumulating at a somewhat steady clip outside DCist’s headquarters on U Street.
WMATA is telling customers that they shouldn’t expect any deviation from normal service — although much of the focus on Metro this morning is about a cracked rail outside the Tenleytown station, an infrastructural issue which consistently plagues Metro during the chilly months. Several suburban schools and the Redskins aren’t taking any chances, though — the snow panic has already sunk its teeth into both.
Whatever you do: don’t try eating what Maryland is treating its roads with, no matter how delicious it may sound.
