According to a statement, D.C. Councilmember Mary M. Cheh (D-Ward 3) “suffered a serious fall while running” over the weekend, resulting in “a severe break and dislocation of her arm and wrist.” Ouch. Cheh has apparently already had surgery on the injured appendage, but has to go under the knife for a second time tomorrow. The medical procedure will cause her to miss the Council’s legislative meeting, during which Vince Gray’s budget gap proposal will be up for a final vote.
