No map discussing the signature fill-in-the-blank of a state would be complete without leaving out the District. So it wasn’t surprising when My Food Looks Funny left us out of their map of Foods by State.

C’mon, now. If Connecticut’s signature dish is the overly ubiquitous hamburger (though a clam pizza would be more interesting and memorable), then we certainly deserve some recognition. The most obvious choice for D.C.’s signature dish would be a half-smoke, of course, though we’ve definitely heard arguments made in favor of mambo sauce and chicken wings. And the old-timers among us would likely suggest navy bean soup.
