While our judges are busy going through the 1,000-plus photos submitted to the DCist Exposed Photography contest by yesterday’s deadline, we want to offer a huuuuuuge thank you to the whopping 102 people who have so far backed our project to publish a fifth anniversary edition DCist Exposed magazine. Last night, we reached our fundraising goal! In return, we’ve given away tons of rewards: over 100 copies of the magazine and nearly 60 winning Exposed 8×10 prints so far. You can see a list of all the wonderful people who have donated to the project here.
The project will remain up until our original deadline of January 23. Kickstarter does not fund projects at all if they don’t meet their goals, so it collects “pledges,” not straight donations. Of course, now that we’ve reached our goal, we’re guaranteed to be funded — so if you’ve already pledged you’ll want to mark down next Sunday, January 23, as the date your donation will officially be charged.
If you still want to support the project and pre-order a copy of the magazine, you have ten more days to get on board. Your funds will go to support the creation of the magazine and local photography; in return, we’ll mail your rewards — a magazine and/or print, directly to your door. Again, our most sincere thanks for your generous support of what we think will be one of the best collections of local photography out there.
If you are a winning Exposed photographer and are not yet involved in the magazine, please email heather [at] dcist.com and we will try to get you in just under the wire!
