WMATA recently issued an alert that trains between the Silver Spring and Wheaton stations on the Red Line are currently single tracking after what was reported to be a “fire aboard a train” at Forest Glen. WTOP’s Adam Tuss reports that the situation was the result of some smoking brakes on a train sitting inside the station. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported. Trains are running through Forest Glen, but currently not stopping at the station due to the investigation.
