Photo by Barbara.K.At 9:21 this morning, Metro sent out a press release regarding operations in light of expected snow accumulation around the region. The headline of that statement? “Metro anticipates normal Wednesday service.” Normal service, eh? Well, let’s take a quick trip around the internet to see how that’s going so far.
Trains were slow in various places along the Red, Orange and Blue Lines all morning, including some huge delays caused by a broken insulator between the Woodley Park and Dupont Circle station. Then there are riders who “just sat on a red line train at Medical Center for 45 [minutes],” were “on the train for 50 minutes and have only moved 4 stops,” experienced “an hour long journey of hell” and, of course, those who were “all ready to win the future this morning. And then I got on the red line.”
So, yes, we can confirm: Metro is indeed operating as normal this morning.
