A crazy scene in Takoma Park this morning: WUSA9 reports that police surrounded a Capital One Bank at 1181 University Boulevard around 9:30 a.m. this morning, eventually shooting a man who was holding a hostage outside of the building. The man shot by police has reportedly died; the hostage, who was a bank employee, was physically unharmed. There were no customers inside the bank when the robbery began, and authorities have now secured the area.
