Adams Mill Bar & Grill, the mecca for kickball players and college students, is closing today. Tipsters have told DCist that the bar will close for either a Cosi or Panera Bread.

Adams Mill Bar & Grill doesn’t exactly have the most illustrious past. The bar has been in trouble with the Alcoholic Beverage Regulation Administration (ABRA) multiple times – and has been shut down, fined, and almost lost their liquor license a few times. In 2009, GW sophomore Laura Treanor died of alcohol poisoning after a night of underage drinking at the bar. The Washington-set movie How Do you Know also filmed some scenes at the bar in 2009.

DCist stopped by the bar this afternoon to see if we could learn anything more about the closing. And there is a sign saying that today is their last day open, and they’re having a closing party with $3 beers, $5 drinks – cash only. So if you want to have one last hurrah at Adams Mill, tonight is your last night.
