Could it be that Virginian squirrels are even more daring than the notoriously fearless ones found around the District?

The power supply to thousands of homes and several traffic intersections around Vienna, Virginia was severed this morning when a squirrel started futzing with and scampering over a Dominion Power transformer around 7:30 a.m. Repairs to the equipment have taken hours to complete and forced police to use generators to keep traffic moving safely, but things should be back to normal soon.

The squirrel, on the other hand, didn’t make it.
