Ted Leo + Pharmacists

Ted Leo And The Pharmacists cover Tears For Fears

We’ve got a thing for Ted Leo, it’s true. (Really, how can you not love a guy who can so adroitly perform “Everybody Wants to Rule the World“?) The former Chisel frontman is a unanimous DCist favorite: when we weren’t checking him out at other venues or when he opened for Pearl Jam, we’ve taken in D.C.’s favorite son at the Black Cat several times. After all, seeing Leo play the Black Cat is a real treat, considering that its his favorite venue to play:

I would probably have to say that the Black Cat in D.C. remains my favorite place, whether it’s just because it’s such a comfort zone for me, I’m not sure, but it really is just always a great stage to play on, and it’s always a really welcoming place to play. And I also think it’s a great place to see shows. To get specific, the sight lines around the room are amazing, and the sound system is good.

High praise for a man whose touring schedule is the stuff of legend. Leo comes back to town for a solo show at the Cat on May 14. Tickets go on sale at noon today — we wouldn’t recommend waiting.
