Good morning, D.C. Welcome to your first weekend of March. Today is shaping up to be the winner of the weekend with highs in the 60s, while tomorrow looks like rain. So go out and enjoy the nice weather while you can.

>> Union Station might finally add stairs to ease congestion in the station. As the escalators are often broken down, it seems like Metro might just bite the bullet and add stairs, which we point out never break down. They also plan to move and widen the entrance at First Street NE to add more fare gates.

>> Good news for Clarendon residents: Trader Joe’s finally confirmed they are coming to the neighborhood. They are opening in a 11,000 square feet space on the ground floor of the Clarendon Center project this summer. Consider yourself lucky, Clarendon residents.

>> Maryland wonders why kids no longer walk to school and if it coincides with childhood obesity rates. Maryland Department of Transportation put out a survey in which principals say they’re concerned students don’t have the “sidewalks or skills to safely walk or bike to school.”

>> A man is in critical condition following a hit-and-run in Prince George’s County last night. The unidentified victim was struck at the intersection of Pennsylvania Ave and Walters Lane at 9:45 p.m. by a white pick-up truck.
