Food & Wine has made a list of the top 25 burgers in the U.S. Local favorites Palena Cafe and Ray’s Hell Burger both made the list. They note that the basic beef burger on brioche at Ray’s is the signature along with all the delicious complimentary topping options that come with it. And as we read it’s hard not to crave the burger at Palena Cafe with truffled cheese and garlic mayo.

In the past we’ve discussed some of the best burgers. Washingtonian has hosted their own burger brackets. Undoubtedly, it’s all relative — some folks favor Five Guys over Z Burger or Chef Geoff’s over Chadwick’s. And some restaurants fly under the radar with their burgers. For instance, Againn is more known for their Scottish food, but their burger is one of my recent favorites with its intense beef flavor. Are there any great burgers that people aren’t talking about?
