More details are coming to light about the blaze which broke out at a gas station in Georgetown this morning. One person was injured in the fire, which started at the Washington Gas Station at 1576 Wisconsin Avenue NW around 8 a.m. this morning. TBD reports that three people were inside the station when the fire started, but none of them were injured. Fire officials believe that flames may have ignited as workers were working on a fuel pump near a space heater in the garage of the station. The fire took took about 15 minutes to extinguish, but not before producing a large amount of smoke and causing significant damage, including to the neighboring Los Cuates Restaurant, which has been closed.
