During a legislative meeting at the Wilson Building this afternoon, the D.C. Council was discussing a measure sponsored by Ward 3 Councilmember Mary Cheh which would push the District’s primary up to April in order to fall into line with federal regulations. Ward 8 Councilmember Marion Barry had some reservations about the bill. And while Barry was discussing his opposition to moving the 2014 primary almost nine months away from the city’s January inauguration, Barry dropped this absolutely amazing line:

“I believe in the Democratic process, but I don’t believe in craziness.”

Well put, Mr. Barry, well put. Too long for a button?
