Brittany Norwood, AP File PhotoBrittany Norwood, 28, was arrested last night in connection with co-worker Jayna Murray’s murder in a Bethesda Lululemon store last weekend. Montgomery County police have released more details about the murder following the announcement of Norwood’s arrest yesterday.
According to witnesses at the store next door, the two women were heard arguing the night Murray was murdered. Montgomery Police also revealed that there was no evidence that either woman had been sexually assaulted.
Police stated that as statements from Norwood and the forensic evidence didn’t match up, Norwood became the main suspect. The most incongruous part of evidence police revealed were two sets of bloody footprints inside the store. One of the set of footprints belonged to Norwood’s shoes. The other set belonged to shoes used by the store to measure pants. The police recovered the second pair of shoes.
We’ve also learned a little more about Norwood. She grew up Washington state and attended college in Long Island. In 2008, she was sued, and then evicted from her Columbia Heights apartment for not paying her rent. She also has an outstanding speeding ticket in Maryland in 2005, failing to appear in court for the charge.
