Photo by lisagryn.Morning Washington. If you’re not one of the overachievers running the National Marathon (or perhaps have already finished) you might want to keep in mind the road closures. >> Speaking of weather, the Blossom Kite Festival has been postponed. Originally planned for Sunday, the threat of snow has caused organizers to change the date. They will announce the new date and time on Monday.
>> Earth Hour is today – the World Wildlife Fund is urging people worldwide to turn off their lights for an hour starting at 8:30 p.m. The National Cathedral, the city of Baltimore, and the National Aquarium will be participating.
>> Parking meter rates (which, by the way, are already ridiculously high) might be rising in Columbia Heights and near Nationals Park (on non-game days). DDOT may rise rates to $8.50 for three hours in Columbia Heights, up from $6.50 and $6 near Nationals Park, now $4.
>> And, from me to you, I want to let you know for the first time in perhaps months, there are no delays on the Metro this weekend. Really, none! However, some Metro bus routes are being rerouted on Sunday.
