Photo by ok-oyot.Hello Washington. Now this is what I call a spring weekend day – sunny, likely to hit the 60s. Let’s hope not to get hailed on today (were you one of the unlucky people that was outside BOTH times it hailed?) and finally enjoy some nice D.C. spring weather. Just mind the road closures for the Cherry Blossom 10 miler.
>> VCU, the last local team in the tournament and quite a Cinderella, lost to Butler last night in the Final Four. Fans got rowdy after the the loss in Richmond, with police making six arrests. Police also had to use crowd dispersing chemicals after fans attacked fire trucks and threw rocks, bricks, and bottles at officers.
>> The D.C. Council is considering a medallion program for city cabs. The medallion system, pretty much requiring cabbies to have a special license to operate, would also limit the number of cabs on the roads. The program could bring in $200 to $400 million for the D.C. government, money we all know the city could use.
>> A 19 year-old man was stabbed last night during a fight inside a Gaithersburg home. Montgomery County police said the 19 year-old came to the house to find a 20 year-old who lived there. The two had a dispute earlier in the day, and a fight ensued. Both men were taken to the hospital, and neither of their injuries are life threatening.
