This morning, Mayor Vince Gray spent an hour on the set of NewsTalk with Bruce DePuyt — but he wasn’t offering up a whole lot of news. Gray talked about the potential shutdown of the federal government — “theoretically everything could be shut down” he said, singling out trash service, pothole filling and homeless services while noting that City Administrator Allen Lew was “working on a plan.” Gray also said that children of political appointees that were given jobs were “gone” and they “never shouldve been [hired].” He also generally pled ignorance when DePuyt asked him about the firing of Rochelle Webb and the Sulaimon Brown scandal. The most interesting part of the hour, however, came when the conversation turned to Walmart. When asked what he thought about the proposed locations for the Big Blue Box inside the District, Gray admitted “I haven’t seen all the sites.” No better time than now, Mr. Mayor!
