Time is running out to be a part of Team DCist in Servathon 2011. We’ve gotten word from Browne Education Campus that they need a few more volunteers to finish all the good work they have for us at their school on April 16, and it isn’t too late to for you to register and join us. The registration deadline is Monday, April 11.

And how can you say no to this:

The school is working to give themselves a comprehensive new look to instill pride in its students and to make students, staff and visitors to feel welcome and energized as soon as they walk through the school’s doors. Volunteers will paint this historic building in vibrant colors! Project Impact: When students and their teachers are comfortable and are in positive surroundings, children learn and produce more in the classroom, which in turn improves performance and achievement later in life.

You can’t, can you? Volunteering on Saturday, April 16 will run from 9:30 to 1:30, followed by an after party at several bars around Dupont Circle. Browne Education Campus is located at 850 26th Street NE, just east of the Atlas District and north of RFK Stadium. The Stadium/Armory stop is not far, buses stop nearby, and there is plenty of parking outside of the school.

If you can’t join us, you can always make a donation to organizer Greater DC Cares on behalf of the team or your favorite team member. But we hope you’ll come along!
