So go enjoy your Federally sponsored city amenities, take in a museum, walk around the tidal basin and see the remainders of the cherry blossoms, stop by a monument or two.
>> Ever see a bicyclist blatantly run a red light and get angry, because if they were a car they wouldn’t have done it? Well, it turns out that will soon be legal in Virginia. Bicycles, motorcycles, and mopeds will be allowed to run red lights in certain situations. They will be allowed to proceed through a red light if they stop at the intersection for two complete cycles of the light or for two minutes, if they deem it safe to pass. However, I can see this law being easily abused.
>> A Maryland state employee was caught using a government credit card to buy $71,000 worth of computer games, clothing, and gift cards delivered straight to the employee’s home. The employee, who worked at the Department of Natural Resources, was fired – but not after supervisors approved the tens of thousands of spending.
>> A man was shot and killed Friday night around 8 p.m. in SE. The victim has been identified as 45-year-old William Parker of Capitol Heights, MD. No further word about the circumstances of the shooting. In a separate incident last night, there was a shooting at Mount Olivet and Motello Ave NE at 7:15. MPD released details of the suspect, they are looking for a black bald man with a dark complexion, wearing a black jacket and blue jeans, driving a late model silver 3 Series Nissan Z.
