UPDATE: After some confusion about the deal among Ben’s staff, it appears as if they are indeed giving out totally free half-smokes to those who donate blood today.

Until 4 p.m. this afternoon, Ben’s Chili Bowl is hosting a blood drive at their iconic 1213 U Street NW headquarters for victims of the incredible tornado destruction across the country. The kind folks over at Ben’s will give anyone who donates blood a ten percent discount on a half-smoke. (The restaurant confirmed this morning that it is a discount, and not a giveaway as has been reported elsewhere.)
