>> Three people were injured at a car wash in Temple Hill, MD yesterday when an employee driving out of the car wash hit another car that was being dried. The two employees drying the car as well as the vehicle’s owner, who was sitting inside, were injured. One of the employees sustained serious injuries to a leg, but the two other people just had minor injuries.
>> Two D.C. murder charges have been overturned because of mistakes made by two different judges. Both errors involved jurors, either allowing a juror to continue serving when they were not competent to do so, or replacing a juror with an alternate too far into the trial. Deandre Hobbs, who was convicted of killing 19-year-old Aaron Teeter, and Dontrace Blaine, who was convicted of taking part in a gunbattle that left a bystander dead, will both receive new trials.
>> As beach season approaches, Maryland officials have expressed concern over the safety of the Bay Bridge. Maryland House Minority Leader Anthony O’Donnell and Democratic Del. Joseline Pena-Melnyk both said they think the bridge is unsafe because of the levels of traffic that go over it. A commission has proposed a traffic-alleviating span at the site of the Bay Bridge, to build new bridges at mid-bay, one north, and one south. However, there is a little funding to pay for new bridges.
