American Craft Beer Week (May 16-22) is upon us and there are events all over the city. As if we needed a reason to celebrate with a pint of good suds, the Brewer’s Association created a week to celebrate the small and independent beer makers around the country who help us enjoy some of the simpler things in life: a good beer with good friends. While we have been lucky to have had this tradition for a number of years here in D.C., 2011 marks the first year where all 50 states have had events for ACBW.

Here’s our rundown of this week’s ACBW happenings around the city. Many of the events are featuring new and rare beers that don’t last long, so make sure to get out there and try some beers you haven’t tried, before they disappear. At the very least, get those taste buds geared up for Savor Beer Week (May 30-June 3) which will have even more events, culminating in one of the country’s largest beer events: SAVOR.
