Yes, there will be a cow milked on the Hill this morning.
According to the Associated Press, a group of protestors affiliated with Grassfed on the Hill are planning on squeezing an udder near the Russell Senate Office Building at some point this morning. The group is upset because of action taken by the U.S. Justice Department against a Pennsylvania farmer, Daniel L. Allgyer, who has been sending unpasteurized milk from his farm across state lines to Maryland and other locations. The FDA has concluded that unpasteurized milk can harbor dangerous microorganisms that can pose serious health risks.”
No word on whether Bessie will also be blocking any nearby streets to protest the District’s lack of budget autonomy.
