Good morning, Washington. Now that the supposed Rapture has come and gone, we can get back to focusing on more important things — like how it appears as if the weather is already turning to the hellacious side. Yes, the District’s always-fleeting pleasant spring weather looks like it might be already coming to an end, with temperatures in the high 80s and heavy humidity that leads to a consistent threat of thunderstorms and perspiration. Who’s ready to sweat?

Gray Meets With Disgruntled Supporters: Mayor Vince Gray certainly has been under fire during the first few months of his administration, even from those who volunteered on the campaign which catapulted him into office. The Post’s Nikita Stewart reports on a meeting Gray had with “two dozen or so” campaign supporters in which he apologized for “sidelining” them — not a good sign for the Mayor, even before you take into consideration the reactions Stewart recorded. “He doesn’t think there’s anything wrong,” one former campaign worker told the reporter. “It’s going to be a long four years. That’s if he makes it to four years.”

Brown Calls For Hearings On Suburban School Enrollees: This year, at least 75 students in several top-performing D.C. public schools were from Maryland and Virginia — and Council Chair Kwame Brown wants to know why. The Chair is planning to conduct hearings into the sale of those slots to suburban students, according to the Examiner. DCPS has claimed that they “recruit heavily” to fill slots at schools like Duke Ellington School of the Arts and School Without Walls, and only offer enrollment to non-residents when the slots cannot be filled by city residents. But Brown might be on to something — after all, it’s hard to believe that there aren’t 75 students who live in D.C. that wouldn’t want to take the chance to learn at the city’s best public schools.

Teens Hospitalized After Potomac Swim: Three teenagers were hospitalized last night, one seriously, after they apparently decided to take a late night swim in the Potomac River. D.C. Fire and EMS found the teens in Georgetown around 9 p.m., one of them suffering from possible hypothermia. It’s not yet clear precisely why the teens were in the water.

This Day in DCist: Last year, city officials announced and were looking for a name for what would eventually become Capital Bikeshare, and a Wizards ticket salesman got a little too overzealous with his sales pitch; in 2009, Jim Graham took on Jumbo Slice.
