Over the weekend, we noted that Rodney James McIntyre, the father of 17-year-old Ebony Franklin — whose body was discovered inside an alley dumpster on the 1000 block of Fairmont Street NW last November — had been arrested on murder charges. Yesterday, McIntyre appeared in court, where several incredibly gruesome details — including an admission that he had given Franklin “a bottle of his semen” to try and get pregnant — were revealed.
The Post reports that prosecutors believe that McIntyre had sex with Franklin at some point before stabbing her 15 times and dumping her body in the trash. In court, authorities testified that, during interviews, McIntyre admitted that he had engaged in some incredibly disturbing sexual behavior with his daughter:
Police interviewed McIntyre numerous times, according to court papers. During one interview, they confronted McIntyre about a possible sexual relationship with his daughter. When authorities asked him if his DNA would be on the victim, he told detectives, “I don’t know how to explain it” and said he would not admit a relationship with Franklin to them, but that he would tell her mother.
When Franklin’s body was found, authorities determined that his semen had been inside her for as long as three days. When confronted with the information, McIntyre told police that he provided Franklin with a bottle of his semen, which he said she used in an attempt to become pregnant.
After authorities challenged his statement, McIntyre then admitted that he and his daughter had sexual relations on “several occasions,” including the Tuesday before she was killed.
During the initial phases of the investigation, McIntyre was quoted as saying “what I want to know as her father, what really took place with my child?” McIntyre, who has been charged with first-degree murder, is being held in jail until his next court date.
