Yesterday afternoon and night saw no less than four violent incidents in the D.C. area. Two separate incidents involved youth in the Gallery Place area last night. One youth was stabbed, another injured with a cut hand in separate incidents on 7th Street NW. Missiles were also thrown at a bus in the same area. The incidents broke out around 11 p.m. last night.

An off-duty officer exchanged gun fire in the Shaw neighborhood outside of a mosque Friday afternoon. The incident occurred about 2:20 p.m. in the 1500 block of New Jersey Avenue NW, where police say a man ran into a mosque and screamed at an Imam during a worship service. Outside of the mosque, the man pulled a gun on the off-duty officer, though no one was injured. It isn’t clear what led to the confrontation, but the man is in police custody.

In Capitol Heights, MD a man was shot and killed last night outside of a bar and liquor store.
The shooting took place in the 1700 block of Kenilworth Avenue outside Frank’s Tavern at about 7:30 p.m. There is no word about the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
