Seriously, going outside tomorrow is going to be rough — the National Weather Service has already installed a heat advisory between noon and 8 p.m. tomorrow, as the heat index could reach 105.

The hot weather is thanks to a massive heat wave that’s already set hundreds of heat records across the United States. Capital Weather Gang calls it a “Massive, record-setting heat ridge” and notes:

Here in Washington, D.C., we have already had three days at or above 95 degrees in 2011 and should tack on two more Wednesday and Thursday. Capital Weather Gang’s Ian Livingston indicates the long term average for 95+ degree days over an entire summer is 7 to 8, but that number has increased to 11 over the last 30 years.

Delightful. Who’s up for some ice cream?
