WMATA isn’t the only transit agency having some serious service issues this morning — Arlington Regional Transit (ART) bus service is being hit particularly hard by a labor protest. “Delays on all ART routes due to contractor job action by some bus drivers,” says an alert on ART’s website; ARLnow reports that ART bus drivers are protesting outside the Courthouse Metro station after many called out sick today. The shortage of drivers has meant ART is not running its 61B route, and are experiencing delays on other routes.

The drivers are apparently paid less than bus drivers who work for Metro, which appears to be the reason for the demonstration.
