Did somebody call for a doctor? Rumblings are afoot that Dr. Dremo’s — the much-loved home of donut beer, the Night of 101 Elvises and off-the-wall decor — is again in the market for a new Arlington location.

Yesterday, we received an email from Andrew Stewart with the latest details on the latest Dremo’s plan:

It has been almost 2 years since Dremo’s last tried to round up investors. We have looked at many places, spoken to many real estate agents, and actually came close a handful of times. It is only now that we are close enough to having a deal, that it is again time to round up investors and try to raise the funds. The property under consideration is a 6000 sq ft facility in Clarendon.

Stewart is trying to secure $350,000 from investors and promises a two-year payback. When pressed by the Washington Business Journal, Stewart wouldn’t elaborate on the precise location of the possible new location, but did indicate it was near both Galaxy Hut and Jay’s Saloon & Grille; the old bar was located at 2001 Clarendon Boulevard.

Of course, there’s been several starts and stops on the road to a reopened Dremo’s since the place closed down in 2008, so we’re not exactly holding our breath — but best of luck to Stewart, who clearly hasn’t given up the ghost.
