Grim Night for SE: NBC Washington reports that two separate incidents in Southeast D.C. Friday night left two people dead. An adult male died from gunshot wounds, and a single car accident left one person dead and three others in critical condition.
Sentencing for Senseless Crime: On Friday morning, 21-year-old Ransom Perry Jr. was sentenced to 24 years in prison in connection with the February 2009 murder of 14-year-old Arthur Daniels Jr. in Northeast D.C.
Unsolved Homicide: Last Fourth of July weekend, John Pernell, 66, was killed in Southeast D.C. during what is believed to be a robbery gone wrong. His twin daughters Ayana Pernell and Yolanda Voglezon still don’t have closure.
