>> James “Sticky” Brewer, charged with the shooting death of a 71-year-old Army veteran in Southeast Washington in June, escaped from D.C. Superior Court Friday but was back in custody Saturday afternoon after turning himself in. The Washington Post reports that Brewer escaped by swapping courthouse identification bracelets with a man who faced a misdemeanor drug charge.
