Sad, if not entirely unexpected news: the first D.C. fatality due to the recent heat wave has been confirmed. NBCWashington reports that Lawrence Graves, 89, died after passing out in his Northwest D.C. lawn on Friday night. Graves’ death was confirmed by the city’s medical examiner as heat-related today.
