>> Three Stars alumna Wayna is the subject of the documentary, Life Out Loud: Joy, Tears, and Passion, where she discusses the trials and tribulations of being an indie artist. Wednesday:
>> Moombahton is an electronic dance genre born in the DMV which is rapidly gaining in popularity around the country and world with the help of folks like producer Diplo. “Moombahton Massive V” at U Street Music Hall features some of the burgeoning movement’s biggest DJ evangelists: Thee Mike B, DJ Orion, Zuzuka Poderosa, Sabo and Nadastorm. $5. 9 p.m.

Thursday:
>> The final Thursday of the month means “Afrobeat For Ya Soul!” is in effect at Bossa. DJ Underdog and Eme & Heteru are slated to provide the sounds. $5. 9 p.m.

Saturday:
>> Three Star alums The Cornel West Theory have been a mainstay on the D.C. music scene for several years. Last week, they dropped their second album, The Shape of Hip-Hop To Come, which features the group’s namesake, and they’ll be performing at U Street Music Hall in support of it. Joining them will be Kokayi, Gods’illa and DJ Underdog. $10. 7:30 p.m.

>> “TNT!” celebrates raw funk, soul, reggae and Latin rhythms of yesterday with DJs Nitekrawler, Mikhail Z. and Teddy “Dos Dedos” Garcia setting the dance floor pace at Haydee’s in Mt. Pleasant. Free. 9 p.m.

>> The “Axel F.” party returns for its July edition with DJs Jahsonic, Stylus and Adrian Loving spinning some of the funkiest and lazer-iest tunes created between 1977 and 1987. As usual, the venue is Liv. Free before midnight / $5 after midnight. 10 p.m.

Sunday:
>> Of Prince’s many disciples, Morris Day & The Time probably stand out the most due to their irrepressible front man. They’ll be taking to the Birchmere‘s stage for the night. $69.50. 7:30 p.m.
