FOOD & DRINK: Find out which D.C. restaurant serves up the best rickey — a mix of bourbon, lime and club soda — as the month-long rickey competition concludes tonight at Jack Rose (2007 18th Street NW). 6 p.m. $10 admission includes a free rickey.

HAPPY HOUR: For the month of August, the Kennedy Center Millennium Stage (2700 F Street NW) will feature a Happy Hour Series on Mondays. Performers, like tonight’s Brazilian singer, guitarist and percussionist Badi Assad, will take the stage in the Kennedy Center Atrium, while the audience relaxes in a couch-filled summer lounge, complete with dance floor and full bar. Cocktails begin as early as 5:30 p.m., the live music of the night will begin at 6 p.m. Free.

TUESDAY: Try out some new comedy material, or just come watch these fearless souls, at The Quick and the Damned Open Mic Tuesday at Asylum (2471 18th Street NW). The event is presented by You, Me, Them, Everybody, with hosts Brandon Wetherbee, Peter Heyneman and Erik Zieger. Sign up at 7:30 p.m., the show starts at 8 p.m. Free.

WEDNESDAY: From the Back of the Room, a documentary on women in the DIY punk music community, premieres at E Street Cinema (555 11th Street NW). 8 p.m. $10.

THURSDAY: The 9:30 Club (815 V Street NW) presents Rusted Root, whose “Send Me on My Way” is still way catchy all these years later. Quincy Mumford and the Reason Why also performs. 7 p.m. $25.

The night’s theme is “Spirituality in Art”, and will feature a lesson in Chair Yoga from Kimberly Wilson of Tranquil Space (6:30 and 7:30 p.m.), a Gallery Talk on the work of Kandinsky (6 and 7 p.m.), music and videos from Robin Bell (5-8:30 p.m.), and more.
