The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for the D.C. area until 9:00 p.m. and a Flash Flood Watch until 11:00 pm. The NWS is calling this “a particularly dangerous severe thunderstorm event” for the DC/Baltimore area.

Strong storms are already impacting northern Anne Arundel county and Baltimore, and there are reports of power outages in D.C. Expect periods of very heavy rain, lightning and damaging winds.
