Last night, University of Maryland acrobatic troupe Gymkana — you know, the non-terrifying locals who were vying for cash and prizes on NBC’s America’s Got Talent — brought out the big guns: their vaunted flaming hoop routine. As you can see, it didn’t go too well.

Our resident expert on all things Maryland sporting, Brett Gellman, said that he’d “never seen them botch the flaming hoop routine,” which Gymkana often pull off at halftime of Terrapin basketball games. (The acrobat who fell into the flames was not hurt, thankfully.) It goes without saying that the gaffe likely means its the end of the line for the group.

Oh well, at least it wasn’t as bad as Gymkata.
