UPDATE (10:35 a.m.): The person involved in the incident has died, according to reports. Some trains are turning back at Brookland in order to mitigate delays, and WMATA estimates that it could be three hours before normal service is restored.

WMATA reports that a person has been struck by a train at the Takoma station, causing delays in both directions. The Takoma station remains open, and trains are currently single tracking between Takoma and Silver Spring. The Post’s Dana Hedgepeth reports that the collision “appears to be intentional.” Further details were not immediately available, but we’ll keep you updated as information comes in.
