Yes, the whispers are true: I’m delighted to officially announce that Martin Austermuhle will be joining the DCist fold as our second full-time editor. Martin’s first day on the job will be Tuesday, September 6.

In his new role, Martin will continue to do what he does so well already — provide reporting and analysis on current events, politics and other matters of importance — but on a far more frequent basis. Martin’s lived in the District for nearly a decade and has been a DCist contributor for several years — that experience has lent him a unique perspective on a variety of issues, which we’re very excited to have around on a full-time basis.
