According to an eyewitness, fire trucks have blocked off access to H Street NW between 6th and 7th Streets due to a report of a chimney fire at Ming’s Restaurant. The building, located at 617 H St NW, is being sprayed down from hoses brought to the roof of the neighboring Tony Cheng’s — according to our witness, the smoke was far worse than it was before firefighters arrived on the scene and the above photograph was taken.
It’s unclear how much damage the building may have sustained, but our tipster says that people who were evacuated from the restaurant “appeared relatively unconcerned.”
