Remember all that hubbub about a shiny, black substance which was found in the Anacostia River in mid-August? Well, according to the Environmental Protection Agency, it was definitely just algae. And harmless algae which has pretty much dissipated with all the rain we’ve been having of late, at that!
Of course, the Anacostia is still quite polluted — just not as much as we previously thought.
