WHEREAS, Mayor Vince Gray thinks that television and film star Hayden Panettiere “has proven not only her acting chops, but also her commitment to the cause of full democracy for the people of the District of Columbia,” and

WHEREAS, the District’s Statehood Committee could really use a little extra press these days, and,

WHEREAS, the Mayor is really hamming it up with the leading ladies of late, and

WHEREAS, I guess there weren’t any streets left to ceremonially rename in her honor, I guess, so this will have to do,

NOW, September 16, 2011 is always going to be “Hayden Panettiere Day” in the District. I know it’s a date I’ll always remember.
