SUPPORT: Bald is beautiful and meaningful at the 46 Mommas Shave for the Brave event at Union Station (50 Massachusetts Avenue NE). On average, 46 families a day learn their child has cancer, so tonight, 46 moms will shave their heads to raise awareness. This event will also raise money for cancer research through the St. Baldrick’s Foundation. 5-9 p.m.

FOOD & DRINK: Jackson 20 (480 King Street, Alexandria) throws their monthly Pig-A-Palooza, featuring all-you-can-eat Smoked Pig, Suckling Pig, Pulled Pork Shoulder, Mahogany Barbeque, East Carolina Barbeque, Ribs, Potato Salad, Cole Slaw, Smoked Corn, Cornbread with Maple Butter, Green Bean Salad, Soft Rolls and Seasonal Pies for $35. The meal begins at 6 p.m. There will also be live music from the Joe Chiocca Band from 6-9 p.m.

PEACE: The Busboys and Poets in Hyattsville (5331 Baltimore Avenue, Suite 104, Hyattsville, MD) is celebrating International Peace Day by dedicating a room to Howard Zinn. There will be music, a reading from Zinn’s Voices of a People’s History, a raffle and more for free from 6-10 p.m. A reception, with appetizers, beer, gift bags and presentations, takes place from 6-8 p.m. and admission requires a donation of $100.
