Is it possible that a piece in which Pat Collins dressed up in a grape suit might end up serving as one of the hardest hitting news stories of the year?
WTOP brings word that the principal at Colonial Forge High School — the school which recently suspended a student, Bryan Thompson, for running on the field at a football game in a banana suit — has resigned. The national spotlight shone on Karen Spillman after Colonial Forge handed down a ten-day suspension to “Banana Man,” then again when the school cut the suspension short, thanks in part to more pressure from students, the ACLU and, of course, Collins.
A Stafford County schools spokesperson told WTOP that she had “absolutely no comment” on whether the resignation was because of the “Banana Man” controversy — but if it were up to us, Collins would already have a Peabody wrapped up.
