D.C. United supporters commemorate the demise of the team’s playoff hopes.

Their season may have come to a disappointing end last week, but D.C. United still had one game left on the calendar. And while there certainly were signs of disappointment from Black-and-Red supporters who won’t see MLS Cup matches for the fourth straight season, most of the 15,965 in attendance on Saturday proved their allegiance to United through thick and thin. While United lost the match — the sixth straight match without a win to close out the season — there are positive signs heading into next season, not the least of which the return of league-leading goal scorer Dwayne De Rosario, and the continued development of young stars Andy Najar and Bill Hamid.
