Ian R. Rapoport, who covers the New England Patriots for the Boston Herald, reports this afternoon that the team has parted ways with troubled former Washington Redskins defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth.

Now, we know that the Redskins — despite the fact that they are obviously perusing the waiver wire — probably wouldn’t bring back a guy who, in his short time with the team, boasted an impressive dossier of incredibly poor and occasionally illegal behavior.

Ah, who are we kidding. We’d totally lay down a fiver on them bringing him back. After all, this seems like exactly the kind of move Dexter Manley was talking about, right?
